HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I finished transitioning all the website pages to the new layout. If you find a broken link, please let me know. Whew! Finished just in time for the new year.

For some reason, instead of writing today I decided to putter around with Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adopt Illustrator. In the end, that turned into spending a few hours making a new website layout. Actually, parts of this layout I’ve had for months. I always thought I’d give myself a “professional” new layout using these colors when I published my first book and the webpage became more of a marketing tool. However, I thought to myself, Well, when is that going to happen? Might as well use the layout now; I can always revive it or tweak it later.

Anyway, I just finished enough to get the blog back up. I haven’t transferred anything else to the new layout and honestly it may be a couple of weeks before I do that. Oh well, least the front page is finished and pretty.

I went back to my favorite inspiration: hot chicks with guns. I dubbed this incarnation “Ms. Bang Bang 2010.” If you remember my old layout that had the corny noir movie poster look to it. This one has a much “sleeker”, “modern” look, hence why it’s Ms. Bang Bang 2010.

Oh well, I think I’ll go write for a little bit then go to bed. See ya when I see ya.

Well, after 1-2 years of the noir girl, I finally have a new layout for Wynderlon.com. The dragon is actually drawn by me way back in 2004. I’ve had this layout for a while but never really did anything with it — well now I finally have.

So, what do you think of the new layout?

Also, I should have a new piece of flash fiction to add to the Fiction section soon!

The major changes are:

• Added avatars to my post and now, if you have a Gravatar account, your avatar will be added to the comments!
• Fixed my RSS feed stream.
• Updated a bunch of info, including my reading list using LibraryThing.
• Added some links in the Extras section (formly called “Resources”) and took away some old/broken links.
• I’ve changed the link to my buttons and banners and added some new banners.

I’ve fixed the RSS feed, so it should be much more user friendly now.
Remember, RSS is an easy and simple way to know when the website is updated. It also has an email feature, so you’ll get updates in your inbox!

Just a quick (and small) site update:

• Added my reading list.
• Added my wishlist.*

*Well, since it’s dinner time and I’m starved, I’ll add the wishlist tomorrow.

After all, whose not dying to know more about me, right? Right??! Although, the lists are more for my benefit and I thought it would be fun to add them on Wynderlon, too.

I’m fiddling with the layout a little, so please excuse any oopsies you may see for the next 72 hours. Here’s a few things I’m trying to add (or have added):

• Blogroll of websites I read almost every day.*
• Fix reply to comments*
• Divide entries on blog more neatly*
• You no longer need to have a pre-approved comment in order to post however, I may change this back in the future depending on how much spam I get. *
• Email sent to commenter when there’s a reply on their comment.*
• Installing RSS feed.*
• Changing my LJ.
• Subscription option to view private posts.

* Have finished and implemented this feature.

The Fiction Section is now open. However, I haven’t posted new stories up there just yet. I’ve posted things I’m currently working on. Yes, I know some may claim it’s a cop-out. Well, I have only one thing to say: nyah nyah nyah. Besides, it’s actually got information on the novel I keep talking about, Morgan, so some of you will finally get some questions answered. Maybe. It also features a handy dandy progress bar, so you can see how pathetically slow I write.

Anyway, I am planning to put some finished fiction up there soon. I have a JumpDrive to go through and some editing to do, but it will be there! Promise!

Ugh, yes I know. It’s all gone. I’ll be trying to retrieve my entries and put them in some semblence of order.

On the plus side, comments now work on every post.
