Wynderlon is the personal and professional website of Himani (me). It includes my artwork, writing, freeware/linkware resources, etc. It was created a long time ago and named after a world in one of my stories. The story didn't turn into anything, but the name stuck, and it fits, as I view this website as a little place where I can get away from reality. And who knows? Maybe through the fiction, art, etc. housed here, it will do the same for you.

The History of Wynderlon

Wynderlon was created way back in 1998 as a general interest website. It had little snippets about myself, my portfolio, and bits of javascript and CGI I had played around with. It was incedibly simple and it didn't have any images, but it did teach me the basics of HTML, CGI, and javascript -- at those times, that was all you needed to know to make an awesome website.

Since then, Wynderlon has evolved into a place for my personal website as well as anything related to my writing. In 2002, I decided to step that up a bit, focusing more on my adventures as an author, so you may notice that my web journal focuses on writing, the creative process, etc. instead of more personal anecdotes. Also, I decided to put my personal writing on my website. This caused the creation of the "Fiction" section. I admit that this section has been flaky, and I often take it down and rework the contents. Many times I have tried to serialize a fiction story, sometimes with disasterous results. However, it is a place where I can put work up that I've been experimenting with, or that is just for fun, or I feel is full of cliches or nods to known genres and I don't want to clean it out. Basically, many of the stories in the fiction section are "diamonds in the rough" and there's no telling if they'll stay that way or not.

In 2003, I added my "Artwork" section. The previous year, I had found a passion for photography. It took me a while to finally get the courage (and the scanner) to put my work on the internet. Originally, I had a very elaborate gallery set up for it, but I got tired of having to maintain so much PHP. I switched to DeviantArt -- which also allows comments from a wider range of people -- and that's where you'll be redirected if you click on the Artwork link.

In 2006, I decided to add website resouces back into Wynderlon, something that had been missing for quite a few years. Slowly, I am putting up linkware website themes and graphics, wallpapers, etc. in the Resources section.

Hopefully, Wynderlon will be around for many years to come and will be full of my imaginings. If you have a question that wasn't answered in the "About" section, please ask me. :)
